A tip and shared experience. During the Summer, my son went over the handlebars of his bike on a downhill mountain course and looked quite groggy with a big bruise on his forehead. After being assesed by the Minister for Transprt no less, we decided to get him to an A&E. The tip is that I rang all the Dublin area hospitals to find out what their waiting list in A&E (Sunday afternoons can be busy) and they varied from five hours to thirty minutes in Beaumont. We went there and were in and out in fifty minutes! Apparently, the variations in waiting times are quite volatile and it is well worth while ringing around as the extra journey across town can be offset by being seen within the hour instead of waiting for 4-5 hours.
