The Occupational First Aid course is the only QQI accredited First Aid training in Ireland.
We run our 3 day Occupational First Aid course as well as the 1 day Refresher course in our Dublin venue near the Naas Road. Therefore our venue is easily accessible for participants from Dublin as well as bordering counties.
Who needs this course?
There is a requirement under the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (General Application) Regulations 2007 to have a sufficient number of Occupational First Aiders trained and deployed in the workplace.
Employers have specifically a duty to provide first-aid materials/equipment at all places of work where working conditions require it. Depending on the size and/or specific hazards of the workplace, trained occupational first aiders must also be provided.
For more information see the guidelines of the H.S.A. (Health and Safety Authority) on First Aid at the work place.
What in particular can you expect to learn on the Occupational First Aid course?
How long is an occupational first aid course?
The full course will be delivered over 3 days with a 2 hour assessment/exam at the end. If you book a full course to be delivered in house then you can split this over a number of weeks. Our public First Aid Course is delivered in Dublin at the Maldron Hotel near the Naas Road.
What type of a certificate does a first aider receive and how long is it valid for?
Our course has been validated by QQI. Successful students will receive a QQI Level 5 Occupational First Aid 5N1207 certificate. For the Refresher course the first aider will receive a certificate from the registered training provider. This is valid for another 2 years. Please note that the QQI does not issue refresher certificates.
You can only participate in a 1 day Occupational First Aid refresher course if your certificate expired within the last three months. If your certificate is more than three months out of date you must complete the full 3 day Occupation First Aid course again.

I attended the First aid for everyone Paediatric course in Bewleys Hotel on Saturday the 12th May 2012 . The course was very informative and very interesting in the delivery.
Siobhan made everyone feel at ease and there was excellent interaction. It was a revision course for a lot of the group but it was the best by far on information, delivery, visual information and equipment.
Thanks a million for delivering a fantastic First Aid course to us on Friday. Girls thoroughly enjoyed as did I.
You seemed to cover everything efficiently and managed to ensure we all participated in the practical aspects also.
Just thought it warranted a massive ‘Thank You’.
Everything is so well organised and the extra little touches like all the goodies, you being there to meet and greet and all the personal stories the instructor has make the course really really good.
So thank you very much. I can go back to the crèche again with more confidence and knowledge should any first aid situation arise.
